The New York Times highlights the chasm between GOP and DEM mentality. The core difference between the GOP and the DEM parties can be summed up simply. The GOP believes your income is yours and some is needed to pay for limited government. The DEM leadership believes every dollar is the government’s first and you are allowed to keep some of it. The DEM leadership’s modus operandi is to take your dollars and give them to someone else to gain votes. Here is the lunacy of the left…
“House Republicans are like the fellow who bellies up to the bar, asking for just one more round of tax breaks for his buddies, while declaring, ‘Put it on my tab,’ “ said Representative Lloyd Doggett, Democrat of Texas. “But it’s really our tab. By focusing on only half the budget equation, and avoiding revenue stewardship, they reject sound fiscal leadership.”
Doggett believes tax cuts are taking someone else’s money and giving it to his buddies. Keeping one’s income via reduced tax levels is not taking money away from someone else. It is keeping your own money. Turn Doggett’s quote around and the DEMs are exposed, ” House Democrats are like the fellow who bellies up to the bar, asking for just one more round of entitlements, while declaring, ‘Put it on HIS tab.’ ”
I’ll pay for my own tab thank you. You pay for your tab. If I pay your tab voluntarily, that’s charity. If Government forces me to pay your tab, that’s redistribution by government sanctioned theft. Today in the United States, half the population is picking up the tab for the other half. The current U.S. tax code is set up so the top 50% of taxpayers are picking up 97% of the tab while the other 50% are tipping the bus boys 3%.
