Even the Russian immigrants that moved to the United States understand the Democrats are moving toward full fledged socialism, if not communism. They’ve seen the effects of Big Brother and Government Control up close and personal. Now they are organizing with the Republicans in an effort to thwart the onslaught of the Democrat’s Big Government Rule. Here’s some great observations from members of the Citizens Magazine Business Club, a group of more than 50 Russian-owned businesses in New York.
… the Democrats “are going in an absolutely different direction,” focusing on “income redistribution” and rich-versus-poor “class war.”
“It’s too socialistic,” said Fridman, head of the non-profit Staten Island Community Center and president of Citizens Magazine, a public affairs publication. “It’s very painful for us to see.”
Here is a great quote that speaks volumes about mindset of the Russians compared to the ignorance of the average American voter.
“They [Russians] want to be involved, be part of the community,” Molinari said. “They [Russians] come from a country where they weren’t able to express themselves, didn’t have the right to organize or vote. They appreciate it more than some of us who were born here.”
Looks like they are being dismissed as “absurd” by the representatives in Government. State Sen. Diane Savino (D-North Shore/Brooklyn) seems to think she knows Soviet politics and life under communism better than those that actually lived there.
“You can’t ignore the fact that the Russian population here came of age during the Soviet era,” said Ms. Savino, who counts many Russians among her Brooklyn constituents.
“They have different thoughts on what communism and socialism mean. They are a little more sensitive to it.
“But, that being said,” she added, “you can’t compare the policies of the Democratic Party with communism. It’s absurd.”
Nice try at an Alinsky though. Dismiss and ridicule them rather than address their grievances. Hell yes, they have different thoughts on Communism and Socialism. They had the boot of Communism on their throats for decades. What arrogance to think she knows Communism better than a Russian.
