First it was the White House Tours, which we highlighted the other day. Now the Easter Egg Roll at the White House is being used as petty punishment for defying the Great and Powerful O! The memo circulated to members of Congress, as reported by the Washington Post contained this little gem:
“Finally, by using these tickets, guests are acknowledging that this event is subject to cancellation due to funding uncertainty surrounding the Executive Office of the President and other federal agencies,” it reads. “If cancelled, the event will not be re-scheduled. We will notify you if there are any modifications to this event.”
However, days before Jay Carney was belligerent in his attack towards Jenna Lee of Fox News when she dared to ask the question about the Easter Egg Roll.
Carney told Jenna Lee that the event wasn’t at risk: “Well actually, Jenna, again, if you did a little reporting . . . it’s paid for by the sale of those eggs that come out, as well as from donations on the outside, so it’s a totally different budget. These are apples and oranges.”
Watch Jay Carney contradict the notion the current narrative concerning the cancellation of the Easter Egg Roll.
What does the main stream media do? What they always do. Cover for the Administration, ignore the inconsistencies, and never call them out on these issues.
On Tuesday’s NBC Today, news reader Natalie Morales warned viewers: “With a potential government shutdown looming later on this month, the White House may have to cancel its annual Easter Egg Roll.” In the report that followed, White House correspondent Kristen Welker added that the “event might be in jeopardy….due to the ongoing budget battles here in Washington.”
Yet, the St. Patrick’s Day Party goes on! Over at White House Dossier, Keith Koffler highlights the issue.
Layoffs and furloughs are in store, delays at airports are on the way, and tours of the White House are cancelled, but the White House has found the money for a full day of St Patrick’s celebrations today honoring a minor U.S. ally but a major U.S. voting bloc.
The festival of everything Irish culminates in a lavish East Room party tonight that will no doubt be watched over carefully by some of the same Secret Service agents unable to conduct White House tours, lest the inevitable imbibing get out hand.
The Administration is getting more bold than ever with their distortions and inconsistencies. Their accomplices in the main stream media are making things worse by allowing this behavior to continue. One has to wonder how Jay Carney and the rest of Obama’s minions can say these things with a straight face. The behavior borders on pathological, but is not surprising. The ends justify the means. A lesson they have learned all to well from the Master of Alinksy, President Obama.
