Attorney General Eric Holder admitted he had not even read the law he called “unfortunate.”
I’ve just expressed concerns on the basis of what I’ve heard about the law. But I’m not in a position to say at this point, not having read the law, not having had the chance to interact with people that are doing the review, exactly what my position is…
He has been trumpeting his belief the law will lead to racial profiling. What an idiot. This is reminiscent of the President condemning the Boston policeman without knowing the details of the encounter with Professor Henry Louis Gates. Obama played the race card then just as Holder is now. From Obama about Cambridge Police Sgt. Joseph Crowley,
I don’t know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that [Gates case]. But I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. That’s just a fact.
Both admit they have no idea what they are talking about, but then go right on and pass judgment. Again, this administration has no problem throwing out the incendiary racial remarks when they smell political gain. Who is acting stupidly, Mr. President and Attorney General Holder? Do either of you care about substance over symbolism? Are you both more interested in divisive, false accusations than the truth? You should be ashamed of your ignorance. Do you really need the people that are reviewing the law to tell you what position to take? Here’s a clue: READ THE LAW!!!
